Featured Artist at Main and Delay Nature Park
On June 20th, Gordon was the featured artist at Suwanee's new Main and Delay Nature Park which connects to the City Center area via a tunnel under the railroad tracks. Construction on the park will not be completed until August. However, the event, appropriately named "First Look", was a thank you gala for people who have made donations for artwork to be displayed throughout the park when it opens. So far more than $1.5 million has been raised. For his part, Gordon was commissioned by the city to paint a picture of the park as it will look when finished with people doing all types of activities that people do in parks. From that painting, a limited edition print was created and every guest at First Look went home with a matted and ready-to-frame numbered print. When the park finally opens there will be several very impressive art displays including an art display created through lighting in the railroad tunnel and an amazing veterans memorial located on an "island" in one of the park's several water features.
NOTE: You can see the original painting on the home page if you scroll to the left at the first art displayed. It is also on the Custom Commissions page on this site.
